hi,

and welcome to my neck of the internet. i hope you have a nice stay!

an essential oil guide

an essential oil guide

hi guys, i decided to make a starter guide for those who are interested in the world of essential oils. when i first got into oils, it seemed a little daunting. there is a lot of options of brands to choose from, different types of oils, and all the information to learn from them. so here is a quick low down if you are thinking about getting your own!

(disclaimer: i am not an expert, these are just tips and tricks i have picked up along the way)

to start: please do not use store brand essential oils!! i am not saying they are bad, just make sure to read the fine print. if it says on the back to not put on your skin/take internally, chances are it is a synthetic formula and is not good for you. all of your oils should say that they are 100% therapeutic and safe to ingest internally (with few exceptions) and safe to put on your skin (without exposure to direct sunlight). other oils may require a carrier oil like almond oil, jojoba, or coconut.

do research: there are multiple brands that offer a wide variety for all of its customers, just find the one right for you. there are essential oil reps that work for companies like young living. these reps are an incredible guide to help you get started. i follow a young living rep (insta: @barefootbotanical) who is great and so knowledgable. what i love about young living is that they have reps like Mac who can help you, and they have multiple products that are so clean and great quality. i recommend following her even if you don’t have a yl membership because she always posts great ways on how to use your oils. if you did want to join her member number is: 16952194

you all know that i am a firm believer in my revive essential oils! what i like about revive is that it is not a membership. so each month, i don’t have to buy a certain amount of oils/products, i can simply buy what i want when i want.

start small: don’t go crazy and buy $100 worth of oils if you won’t really use them, or don’t buy blends you’re not familiar with! i would start with staples like: peppermint, lavender, and lemon/any citrus. and see what you like/don’t like and experiment with blends in your diffuser with the oils you currently have! you don’t need to have a million oils in order to feel the benefit, just starting small is the best start.

i will continue to build on this but i think this is a great starter if you are interested in oils. below i have linked some pictures with some of my staple blends. ps. i created these all on photoshop and i feel sooooo cool haha. anyways, feel free to save them to your camera roll so that you can use them! and comment any questions and i will try my best to answer them with proper knowledge ;) some blends like peace and calming/zen or copaiba & coffee are either young living or revive!
