bye, denver
may 21 i entered my cousins beautiful townhouse in denver freaking out over the days to come. my dad and i ate tokyo joes before he lugged my suitcase up to my room, hugged and kissed me goodbye, and drove away.
the next day i started my 11 week internship in the beautiful golden, colorado. i met so many interesting people with every type of background. I dealt with unruly customers, puke filled towels in housekeeping (something i never wish on anyone), dinners in banquets, and much more. did i mention i spilt milk in a customers purse? ya, that was probably top ten one of the worst days of my life… i felt like i lived and breathed that internship, and i did. i worked my tail off, but i actually learned so much. i won’t go into detail because i could go on and on!
but soon, my time at the property was slowly coming to a close and i found myself trying to be a little more gentle to the couple that was upset her poached egg wasn’t poached enough and took my time talking to regulars asking them about their days.
this summer has been especially special to me because i have been able to spend so much time with my cousin, emily. this summer, our family needed us to be together more than ever and being only steps away from her, meant the world. spending nights watching handmaids tale, eating, talking about the bachelorette, it was just so nice being near to her. oh, and it was nice spending time with nick!! ;)
i left denver with a heavy heart. leaving my family, my internship, and the beautiful denver. but there is so much to look forward to! i’m heading back to las vegas, and then to fort worth, and much more! so this is goodbye for now, denver, i love you and miss you already… but i miss ems more.
